I wrote this:
“We may see a continued sell-off into around 1/3/2025 as investors lock in some gains for 2024 after the massive price increase….From wherever price bottoms during this current sell-off, I expect a move to new highs. At least above $115k and potentially all the way to $150k. My hunch is this temporary high will occur sometime around the inauguration, specifically around 2/2/2025. From there, a 20%-30% sell-off would not surprise me. The sell-off ending around 3/18/25 or more specifically on March 14, 2025 would be my guess.”
As I mentioned in the article, this was a framework but as price moves through time, I reserve the right to update.
Reviewing price action during the month of January, my short-term working view is the sell-off anticipated into around 1/3/2025 actually ended on 1/13/2025 at just below $90k. And the temporary high around the inauguration “at least above $115k…specifically around 2/2/2025,” literally occurred on inauguration day at $110k.
And if you go look at the last chart which shows Elliott Wave counts for the forecast, the current price action we’re experiencing from the high on 1/20/2025 is Wave [2] of (3).
Where exactly this bottom occurs is not clear, but I think after 2/8/2025, much earlier than the originally forecasted date of 3/18/2025, price will begin its next ROCKET move higher.
Maybe the huge move expected in Wave [3] of (3) instead of beginning from 3/18/2025 and ending in early April, begins after 2/8/2025 and ends around 3/18/2025.
We have a lot of price action and time to see before we modify that view…
Regardless, I think we have another 1-2 weeks of “poor” price action and then a massive move begins…
